Citizen of Year Info
Your Nomination Matters!
It’s time to nominate a neighbor, community volunteer or family member for the Morning Sun Citizen of the Year honor for 2026!
Nominees must have a Morning Sun Zip Code OR live in the 868 phone prefix area OR live in the Morning Sun School District. All you have to do is write 3 sentences about why this person deserves the honor and get that info to the Mellinger Memorial Library or mail it to Morning Sun 4th of July, Box 208 or email it to sanderson9441@gmail.com
Easy Peasy right? Now put your thinking cap on! Who deserves this lifetime honor?? It could be a man, a woman, a couple or even a group that has made a difference in our community this past year or over a lifetime.
The winner, as voted on by Morning Sun Citizens in person or online on June 18th, will be celebrated at the Community Worship Service, honored on the 4th of July in the parade and at evening festivities and their name(s) will be added to the perpetual plaque hanging in the Community Center.
